I've been drawing portraits since the day I learned how to hold
a crayon. My first portrait sale was at a local art show in Kentucky
at the ripe 'ol age of nine. The subject was a woman
holding a bouquet of flowers, coloured in my finest crayolas. Over
the years my interest in painting people expanded to include animals,
and my medium switched from crayons to soft pastels. Now my portraits
are almost exclusively of animals.
I graduated from the American College in Lucerne, Switzerland
in 1979 (now known as AIU London) with a BA in Fashion Design and
Merchandising. In 1992, after working nearly 12 years in
the fashion industry, I decided to make art my profession. I briefly
studied at the Emily Carr College of Art before branching out first
as a freelance illustrator, then later adding pet portraits to
the repertoire. My pet portraits now hang in homes worldwide. In
addition to my portrait business I also design web sites (Mango
Graphics), and restore photographs (Classic
Photo Artist).
